CILC/JILP Symposium 2014.6: Panel Five: THE WAY FORWARD

4:00 - 5:00 PM | THE WAY FORWARD While estimates suggest that the number of children in hazardous labor has halved since 2000, it still remains a major global problem, affecting some 85 million children. What progress has been made is due in part to collaborations at various levels of society—policymakers, civil society, corporations, and community. Despite the formation of multi-stakeholder initiatives, the agricultural sector remains an area with the largest number of child laborers. Given the challenges, what should multilateral agencies, governments, companies, and civil society do to confront the worst forms of child labor in agriculture? This concluding panel will follow a fast-paced interview format.
