California Department of Fish and Wildlife: State Natural Resources Law, Tradition, and Change Wendy Bogdan is the General Counsel for the California Department of Fish and Wildlife. In that capacity, she oversees the Office of General Counsel, which includes approximately twenty-six attorneys, as well as the legal team for the Office of Spill Prevention and Response. Collectively, these attorneys practice in natural resources law, water law, public contracting law, personnel, real estate law, and public financing law. She has a bachelor’s degree in Anthropology from the University of California, Berkeley and a juris doctorate from the University of California, Berkeley, School of Law (Boalt Hall). Prior to joining the Department, Ms. Bogdan was a partner at Downey Brand LLP and a Staff Attorney at Legal Services of Northern California.
